The aim of the paper is to analyze the possibilities the strategic theory of the firm formation basing on transaction costs (contractual) and resource-based approaches, knowledge-based approach, conception of dynamic capabilities, entrepreneurial theories of the firm and processual approach, too. The preliminary propositions on the basic statements of the strategic theory of the firm elaborating from the point of view methodological individualism are formulated.
